This series is one of the most amazing i've ever read, and #6 does not let the previous down! I am now dying for May to arrive to read number 7!! Everyone should get a bit of the Easton experience!! (finished 07/03/08)
004. Mercy by Jodi Picoult

When Jamie killed his wife, Maggie, she is not the same woman he married. Maggie had cancer, which had rapidly spread throughout her body. Unable to cope with the pain she decides to take her death into her own hands and gets her beloved husband to help her. But whilst she had ended her suffering, not much thought went into the suffering of Jamie, who now has not only has lost his wife, but is on trial for her murder too. This is alongside the story of Allie and Cam, and Cam's affair with Mia...
This was a decent book, i think because it was a Jodi book, i was expecting a bit too much. It took quite a while for me to get into but in the end it was interesting. Naughty Cam. He is BAD! & Allie is funny! (finished 16/03/08)
005. Trust Me, I'm a (junior) Doctor by Max Pemberton

If you're going to be ill, it's best to avoid the first Wednesday in August. This is the day when junior doctors graduate to their first placements and begin to face having to put into practice what they have learnt in the last 6 years. Starting on the evening before he begins work as a doctor, Max lead's us through his amusing and touching journey of his first year in the NHS.
Basically, this is Grey's Anatomy/ER on the NHS. Totally worth reading, comes with hilarious entries and the ideal way to scare a medical secretary on April fools just after she's attempted to trick you! (finished 20/03/08)
006. The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks

Beginning with the story of Noah Calhoun, recently returned form the Second World War. Noah is restoring a plantation home to its former glory, and he is haunted by images of the beautiful girl he met fourteen years earlier, a girl he loved like no other. Unable to find her, yet unwilling to forget the summer they spent together, Noah is content to live with only memories...until she unexpectedly returns to his town to see him once again. A story of love forced apart due to the difference in social staus of the two, rejoined in the end. The question is; who will Alli choose? High status, trusting Lon or the love of her life Noah.
Total love story, ending in the best possible way. It had me gripped from the beginning! Have your box of tissue's handy when reading!! (finished 26/03/08)
007. Queen Of Babble In The Big City by Meg Cabot

When "Summer Fling" Luke suggests they move in together, Lizzie is only too happy to move in with the love of her life in his mother's Fifth Avenue fancy pad. But Lizzie's not as lucky in her employment search. As her best friend, Shari, finds the perfect job, Lizzie struggles through one humiliating interview after another, until Shari's boyfriend Chaz lands Lizzie a receptionist's position at his father's posh law firm. Her dream job at a local wedding-gown shop Lizzie manages to find all on her own is a non paying gig, but she's determined to change that. But Lizzie's notoriously big mouth gets her into trouble almost at once - first at the law firm, where she becomes too chummy with a society bride, and then with Luke when she brings up the idea of marriage. Soon Lizzie finds herself jobless and homeless all over again.
Total drama story! When i read the first one i was in fits of laughter every couple of pages, this one not so funny but cute and sweet. I love Meg Cabots book with a capital L so never a disappointment! (finished 31/03/08)
APRIL
008. The Ashleys by Melissa De La Cruz

The Ashleys rule Miss Gamble’s Prep School. They are gorgeous, rich, fashion wise, and, yes, all named Ashley. Lauren Page has gone to the same school with them her whole life, and the Ashleys, if forced to remember, might recall only a faint memory of shoving mud in the poor girl’s mouth in kindergarten. But Lauren Page is no longer the mud-eating loser she once was. Her father hit the jackpot with his YourTV invention this summer and gone are the days of her wearing bargain-basement cast-offs to off-the-runway couture. She is still the same person on the inside. And that person has had enough of the current regime. Lauren's ready to flip how Miss Gamble's is run.
A little disappointed with this one, i bought it because the author of the Private novels had recommended it. But then the girls in it are like 12. What 12 year old needs to spend triple digits on a t shirt?
But there were some funny bits. I.e. when Ashely Li (Lilli) goes " 'i've killed my best friend' its the worst and best day of my life " I think i may read the next one....its the kind of style i like, short quirky chapters. Each chapter is from the POV of a different girl (A.A, Lili, Ashley, Lauren) (finished 02/04/08)
009. Thanks For The Memories by Cecelia Ahern

When Joyce Conway leaves hospital after a miscarriage, she remembers things she shouldn’t. She knows about tiny cobbled streets in Paris, which she has never visited. And every night she dreams about an unknown little girl with blonde hair. These are the memories of another person. Justin Hitchcock is divorced, lonely and restless. He arrives in Dublin to give a lecture on art and meets an attractive doctor, who persuades him to donate blood. It’s the first thing to come straight from his heart in a long time.
The two run into each other many times and each are struck with a familiar feeling. When Joyce realises what is going on, all she can do is say; thanks for the memories.
Couldn't have expected any less from Cecelia Ahern, she truely is an amazing writer! I loved the humour throughout the book, especially by Henry, Joyce's father, i heart him! When he realises he can have his belt and things back after they've gone through the metel detector. LMAO. Joyce's pain from the loss of her unborn child is raw and you can imagine everything she is feeling. Ended totally cutely, enough to make me drop the book and clap madly! (finished 03/04/08)
010. Gossip Girl #2 - You Know You Love Me by Cecily Von Ziegesar

Blair Waldorf is 17 and she knows exactly what she wants - her boyfriend Nate Archibald all to herself, but while Blair is busy filling out ivy league college applications Nate meets Jenny Humphrey completely by accident and they start seeing each other behind Blair's back. Nate, his friends, Serena, and Dan, head up to Brown University for their interviews, completely leaving Blair behind. Blair is NOT happy
011. Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult

Sterling is a small, ordinary New Hampshire town where nothing ever happens -- until Peter enters the Sterling high school with an arsenal of guns and starts shooting, changing the lives of everyone inside and out in order to take revenge. Josie Cormier is judge Cormiers daughter and the state's best witness -- but she can't remember what happened in front of her own eyes. Or can she?
Jodi Picoult has amazed me once again, gripped from the beginning, i read about 7 chapters on my lunch break, completely forgot to eat my lunch, the story behind Matt and Josie totally builds up to the ending but i NEVER expected what happened, i finished it at work and my mouth totally dropped and i gasped LOUD. The love story that emerges of Alex and Patrick is cute, cute, cute! (finished 10/04/08)
012. Velocity by Dean Koontz
The story of an innocent man forced by a serial killer to choose who will be murdered next. William Wiles is an easygoing thirty-something, a bartender who lives a quiet life alone until a serial killer singles him out - not to kill him, but to force him to decide who the next victim will be. On his SUV, Billy finds the first note: 'If you don't take this note to the police and get them involved, I will kill a lovely blonde schoolteacher. If you do take this note to the police, I will instead kill an elderly woman active in charity work. You have four hours to decide. The choice is yours.' Billy pays an informal visit to an acquaintance, Lanny Olson, who is a policeman, and who thinks the note is a prank. The schoolteacher dies. The next note reverses the choices: if Billy takes the note to the police, a mother of two young children will die. If he doesn't, an unmarried man who won't be much missed will die. Billy doesn't hear from Lanny again when he finally takes it seriously because Lanny himself, unmarried, who will not be much missed, has become the next victim. There will be more communications from the killer, more hideous choices, with ever tighter decision times, and with each choice Billy is drawn deeper into an accelerating nightmare, which steadily becomes more personal, more confrontational, until he is isolated, with no one to turn to and no one to rely on but himself. Finally he must risk everything to save the intended victims...
Actually the most disguisting, horrifying, puke-worthy book i have ever read. I thought i'd have a change from the girly books i read to another genre to attempt to widen my genre knowledge for work. NEVER AGAIN. A book that involves fish hooks in peoples heads and a hand being nail gunned to the floor should never be read. The author attempts to bring an almost "The Notebook" feel to it with Billy's comatose wife and miserably fails. (finished 12/04/08)
013. Vanishing Acts by Jodi Picoult

+ Delia Hopkins has led a charmed life. Raised in rural New Hampshire by her widowed father Andrew, she now has a young daughter, a handsome fiance, and her own Search and Rescue bloodhound - which she uses to find missing persons. But as she plans her wedding, she is plagued by flashbacks of a life she can't recall. Then a policeman shows up at her door, arresting her father for the kidnap of a little girl. That girl is HER. As the story unfolds you learn exactly why Andrew "kidnapped" his daughter all those years ago.
I think this is seriously Jodi Picoults best book, i love her other books but this one totally gripped me from the first chapter. The story of Fitz, Delia and Eric growing up together is so, so cute. & she even has a dog! Adding in Ruthann and her side story totally gave history to the state of Arizona -and can i say, i totally want a PMS Barbie! - Completely LOVED IT. (finished 16/04/08)
014. Size 14 Is Not Fat Either by Meg Cabot

This is the second book featuring Heather Wells, a failed popstar now working as a college dorm resident hall assistant. When the head of a popular cheerleader is discovered in the cafeteria the search is on to find the rest of her body and the person who killed her. Heather is determined not to get involved but soon finds that the murderer may be closer than everyone thinks.
Meg Cabot is my idol. I absolutely heart her! She makes this crime/romancic malarky work to a T, nothing Dean Koontz about Meg's writing even if it does include a severed head set to a simmer! As usual Heather is hilarious and this Gavin dude is SO CUTE! The inspiration for my puppys name came from this book so its all good!! (finished 22/04/08)
015. Remember Me by Sophie Kinsella

When Lexi Smart wakes up in a hospital bed, she thinks that a night out with her friends has gone badly wrong . . . imagine her shock then when she finds out it's 3 years later than she thinks, she has the perfect body, hair, clothes, job . . . and a husband complete with beautiful house! But Lexi soon realises that all this has come at a high price - her old friends no longer wants to know her and she doesn't eat crisps!
Sophie Kinsella is another one of my tip top authors and she never fails to keep me turning those pages! I read it in a day, thats how fabulous it was! The bizarre situation and whats to happen keeps you on the edge of your seat....and can i say i hate that husband of hers! (finished 24/04/08)
016. The Clique #1 by Lisi Harrison

The Clique: Massie Block - with her glossy brunette bob and clear white smile, Massie is the uncontested ruler of the Clique and the rest of the social scene at Octavian Country Day School, an exclusive private school at Westchester, New York. Dylan Marvil - Massie's second in command, Dylan divides her time between sucking up to Massie and sucking down Atkins shakes to try to get rid of the extra fifteen pounds that won't seem to leave her hips alone. Alicia Rivera - as sneaky as she is beautiful, Alicia floats easily under the adult radar because she seems so 'sweet'. Would love to take Massie's throne one day. Might just do it...Kristen Gregory - Kristen has been dying to fit in ever since her parents went broke. She's smart, hard-working and will insult you to tears faster than you can say 'scholarship kid'. Claire Lyons - the new girl from Florida, Claire is staying in the guesthouse on Massie's family estate. She is definitely not Clique material, yet Massie's family insist that Claire is included in her gang. Claire's future looks worse than a bad Prada knock-off, but with a little luck and a lot of scheming, she might just coming up smelling of Chanel No.19...
Another attempt to fill my time before the 7th Private book comes out, nothing seems to be as good though...even though Kate Brian recommended it....then again my standards are way up after her books!! Little Todd is a laugh and a half! (finished 26/04/08)
017. The Clique #2 by Lisi Harrison

Massie Block - Still gorgeous. Still trendsetting. Still ruling the social scene at school...she hopes...Dylan Marvil - Lost the weight. Kept the attitude. Plans to use her new look to snag a cute guy. Kristen Gregory - Clothes are for sharing. Guys aren't. Likes the same guy Dylan does. Will do whatever it takes to get him. Alicia Rivera - With the Clique unravelling faster than last season's Burberry sweater, is it time for Alicia to stage her takeover? Claire Lyons: Still out. Wants in. Seriously needs to lose those Keds.
Seriously funny book, Massie is a little whatsit and she knows exactly how to play things! All i can say is, i wish i had a limo to drive me to and from school everyday! (finished 29/04/08)
MAY
018. The Clique #3 by Lisi Harrison

Just weeks before Christmas and the girls are busy at the Body Alive Dance Studio. As Alicia and her exhausted dance friends change out of their Nuala gear (not just for yoga anymore), they discuss their plans for the weekend. Alicia is hands down the most popular girl in the class, not only because she's the best dancer, but because Massie isn't there. Massie hates to dance, so for three hours a week on Tuesday and Thursday, Alicia is the alpha female. And she absolutely loves it. Is the Clique about to be turned upside down?
Alicia is turning OCD upside down! & apparently quite well too!! Kristens secret is revealed to all in this book and she is so ashamed....obviously what going to a snobbish school does to a "poor" girl in a "rich" kids school! Claire and Cam sitting in a tree! (finished 04/05/08)

Little Todd is a laugh and a half! (finished 26/04/08)

Wants in. Seriously needs to lose those Keds.Seriously funny book, Massie is a little whatsit and she knows exactly how to play things!

Is the Clique about to be turned upside down?Alicia is turning OCD upside down! & apparently quite well too!! Kristens secret is revealed to all in this book and she is so ashamed....obviously what going to a snobbish school does to a "poor" girl in a "rich" kids school! Claire and Cam sitting in a tree!
